NEW DELHI: The defence ministry on Wednesday authorized the Rs 490 crore proposal for the purchase of 260 indigenous software-defined radio conversation sets for naval warships.
The defence acquisitions council, chaired via minister Nirmala Sitharaman, authorized the purchase of the radio sets designed and evolved via DRDO’s Defence Electronics & Applications Laboratory at Dehradun.
“The new sets, which will replace the old ones on board warships, will be produced by defence PSU Bharat Electronics,” mentioned an officer
